Impacto del proyecto promotores de salud bucodental para la tercera edad en Camagüey

Abstract

Para mejorar la calidad de vida y la salud de la comunidad se requiere fomentar en las personas la capacidad de actuar por su propia salud. En Cuba se da prioridad al anciano a través del programa del adulto mayor. Se presenta el impacto del proyecto de intervención y desarrollo que formó parte del programa territorial de salud e higiene ambiental. Motivados ante la situación imperante en la salud bucal del adulto mayor fue necesario a partir del diagnóstico educativo de los ancianos, la trabajadora social y el técnico de terapia ocupacional vinculados a las casas de abuelos de la provincia Camagüey, diseñar una estrategia de educación por la salud bucodental para la tercera edad a través de promotores de salud vinculados a estos ancianos y con herramientas educativas. Nuestra investigación tiene como objetivo mejorar la información higiénico sanitaria bucal de los ancianos. Se logró un impacto social trascendente, oportuno y factible, con grandes perspectivas en el proceso intelectual de la comunidad gerontológica.
