Cardiopatía isquémica. Factores de riesgo coronario

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional y analítico longitudinal; retrospectivo caso control sobre los factores de riesgo de la cardiopatía isquémica en una población adulta del municipio Nuevitas, desde abril hasta diciembre de 1997. La muestra calculada fue de 115 pacientes y 230 controles. Se demostró que el 86, 96% de los casos eran mayores de 60 años. El hábito de fumar, el exceso de peso corporal y la hipercolesterolemia alcanzaron frecuencias superiores en los casos en relación a los controles. La hipertensión arterial y la diabetes mellitus fueron las enfermedades asociadas más frecuentes y los factores de riesgo que mostraron mayor grado de asociación fueron la hipertensión arterial, diabetes mellitus, el exceso de peso corporal y el hábito de fumar con riesgos relativos de 120, 56, 17, 22, 73 y 10, 78, respectivamente.
