Monitorización de la presión intracraneana en el tratamiento neuroquirúrgico de afecciones no traumáticas

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio explicativo y retrospectivo de diez pacientes ingresados en las salas de terapia intensiva y traumatología del Hospital Provincial Clínico Quirúrgico Docente "Manuel Ascunce Domenech" de Camagüey, con entidades neuroquirúrgicas no traumáticas en el intervalo comprendido desde diciembre de 1998 hasta febrero del 2000. Se les monitorizó la presión intracraneana (PIC) continuamente en el postoperatorio con el objetivo de mostrar las potencialidades de esta forma de neuromonitorización. Atendiendo a esto se determinaron las afecciones en que se empleó el proceder y las complicaciones pre y transoperatorias que motivaron la decisión de su utilización; se relacionó el sitio de la monitorización con la enfermedad del paciente y se ejemplificó con la presentación del caso de uno de los pacientes atendidos. Se concluye con la utilidad de la monitorización continua de la PIC en el postoperatorio neuroquirúrgico complicado. Se proponen criterios de selección de pacientes.
