Hábitos tóxicos y embarazo. resultados perinatales

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal sobre la adicción de hábitos tóxicos durante el embarazo (alcohol y tabaco) y sus resultados perinatales, desde enero de 2000 a diciembre de 2005, en el municipio de Céspedes, Camagüey. Constituyeron el universo 102 gestantes identificadas como adictas al tabaco y al alcohol. La prevalencia de la adicción en la población gestante fue del 21, 1 %, 16 % adictas al tabaco y 5 % adictas al alcohol; el 21, 6 % eran adolescentes; el 35 % tuvo una rotura prematura de membrana; el 28, 5 % un bajo peso al nacer; el 31, 1 % un recién nacido pretérmino; el 19, 4 % presentó algún trastorno genético y el 20, 7 % presentó amenaza de aborto. La morbilidad del recién nacido estuvo dada fundamentalmente por un 23 % de Apgar bajo y un 16, 8 % de bronconeumonía. Las adicciones durante el embarazo desencadenan alteraciones que perjudican la salud de la madre y el hijo.
