Budget execution planning and strategic management of governmental control for occupational health and safety of workers
Abstract
Introduction: It is relevant to determine how public management, strategic planning and transparency are essential to create work environments, directly linking government control. For this, a two-term plan proposal is outlined.
Objective: To know the perceptions about public management in relation to the occupational health of workers.
Methods: A qualitative approach was adopted through action research, analyzing work activities during March 2024. During the following month, data were collected on short-term planning and the results obtained at the end of said month. Interviews were previously conducted with five executives between deputy managers and coordinators of a Peruvian municipality, through semi-structured questionnaires focused on stress management.
Results: The results show the proposal of a two-term plan: short and medium term. Short Term: Initial comprehensive wellness programs will be implemented that will include access to mental health services and periodic psychological consultations to support the emotional health of employees. Balanced nutrition will also be promoted through a healthy kiosk within the municipality, in addition to raising staff awareness about the importance of emotional health to generate a culture of self-care from the beginning. Medium Term: As the programs progress, strategic human resources planning will be adjusted to reduce stress and burnout, balancing workloads and promoting the conciliation of personal and professional life. Continuous training in mental health and self-care will be promoted, reinforcing emotional support and resilience strategies.
Conclusions: Public management, strategic planning and transparency are essential to create healthy and sustainable work environments, directly linking government control with the occupational health of workers.
