Alteraciones clínicas encontradas en pacientes portadores o no de prótesis estomatológica

Abstract

Con el objetivo de determinar las alteraciones clínicas más frecuentes encontradas en pacientes portadores o no de prótesis estomatológica, se realizó un estudio descriptivo y retrospectivo en el período de enero de 1996 a diciembre de 1997 aplicando formulario para recoger alteraciones en la cavidad bucal en los portadores de prótesis e impedimentos para iniciar el tratamiento en los no portadores de aparatos. Clínica Estomatológica de la Ciudad de Camagüey. El Universo lo constituyeron 803 pacientes que acudieron al Servicio de Prótesis para ser examinados previo al tratamiento, 135 presentaron impedimentos para iniciar el mismo. Las alteraciones observadas en la cavidad bucal en los pacientes portadores de prótesis fueron producto de y atrogenia en su confección o deterioro de su uso, siendo las causas más comunes de impedimentos para comenzar el tratamiento las migraciones óseas y dentarias. Se concluye que las alteraciones clínicas más frecuentes encontradas en pacientes portadores o no de prótesis estomatológica fueron las parodontales y las migraciones óseas.
