Correlación entre las malformaciones congénitas y la mortalidad infantil

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en 44 pacientes fallecidos con malformaciones congénitas pertenecientes al municipio Nuevitas en Camagüey, desde 1979 hasta 1999. La información fue recogida en formulario creado al efecto y se obtuvieron de los expedientes clínicos y de los archivos estadísticos del municipio. Los datos fueron procesados mediante el programa estadístico Microstat, realizando distribuciones de frecuencias en cada una de las tablas médicas. Se realizó una valoración del diagnóstico genético en el municipio y se concluye que la tasa de mortalidad infantil por malformaciones congénitas se mantenía elevada. El desarrollo de la consulta genética multidisciplinaria es esencial con el fin de poder disminuir la incidencia de este tipo de enfermedad multifactorial.
