Hipertensión arterial. Comportamiento de algunos factores de riesgo

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio de casos y controles pareados 1:1 con el objetivo de conocer el comportamiento de algunos factores de riesgo de la hipertensión arterial, en un consultorio del médico de la familia perteneciente al Policlínico Docente "Concepción Agramonte" del municipio Florida, en el período de enero a diciembre de 1999. El grupo de casos estuvo constituido por los 80 pacientes dispensarizados con el diagnóstico de hipertensión arterial y el grupo control con igual número de sujetos que no padecían la enfermedad, pertenecientes al mismo consultorio, sexo y grupo de edad, a todos se les aplicó una encuesta donde se recogieron algunas variables seleccionadas, los datos fueron procesados de forma computarizada. Se encontró un predominio de los pacientes de 60 años y más (47,5 %) y el sexo femenino (62,5 %). Los factores de riesgo con mayor grado de asociación fueron el alcoholismo (31,25 %), el hábito de fumar (61,25 %) y la obesidad (32,5 %).
