La moxibustión como método de tratamiento en las leucopenias post radio-quimioterapia

Abstract

Se realizó un ensayo clínico fase II tardía para evaluar la eficacia de la moxibustión en el tratamiento de las leucopenias en pacientes con oncopatías y con tratamiento de radio o quimioterapia, en el Hospital Oncológico "María Curie" de Camagüey, en el período comprendido de junio de 1999 a octubre del 2000. El universo incluyó a todos los pacientes sometidos a la radio poliquimioterapia atendidos en el mismo, se tomó como muestra de estudio a quellos que durante su tratamiento presentaron leucopenias. Estos fueron valorados por el hematólogo y remitidos al Departmento de Medicina Tradicional y Natural de dicho hospital. Como resultado más relevante se observó que el tratamiento fue satisfactorio en el 90% de los casos y que entre la tercera y la cuarta sesión de moxa se obtuvo respuesta positiva en la mayoría de los pacientes.
