Evaluación del dolor en el preescolar

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio experimental para demostrar la eficacia de dos instrumentos para valorar el dolor en el niño. Se crearon dos grupos: uno de estudio formado por 20 niños ingresados en el Hospital Pediátrico de la Provincia de Camagüey, en los meses de enero a marzo de 1998, con patologías acompañadas de dolor, sin tratamiento para ello y otro grupo de control constituido por niños supuestamente sanos que asisten al Círculo Infantil Alegres Campanitas y la Escuela Primaria Renato Guitart. En ambos grupos la edad osciló entre 4 y 7 años, etapa prescolar, según Piaget. Se les aplicó el Test de 9 Caras y la Escala de Colores de Eland, ambas modificadas. Se realizó una análisis comparativo de los resultados de la aplicación de las técnicas y se valoró que ambos instrumentos se confirman como medios discriminativos diagnósticos. Aparece una alta frecuencia del color rojo asociado al dolor. Cosideramos debe validarse y utilizarlas combinadas con técnicas de tratamiento psicológico al dolor.
