Abstract

El estudio de las vitaminas siempre es un tópico importante, y su conocimiento es indispensable para muchas especialidades médicas y estomatológicas. Las mismas desempeñan un papel fundamental en la nutrición humana y en un adecuado estado de salud. El propósito de este trabajo es actualizar los conocimientos sobre las vitaminas en relación con la Estomatología y sus fuentes de obtención. Se revisó la bibliografía concerniente al tema desde el año 1982 hasta 1995. Se concluyó que estados carenciales afectan la salud bucal y que el estomatólogo debe conocer las fuentes naturales de vitaminas así como dosis profilácticas y terapéuticas de las mismas
