Repercusión de la hipertensión arterial sobre la audición

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en los 65 pacientes hipertensos de un consultorio urbano del médico de la familia del Policlínico "Tula Aguilera" del municipio de Camagüey, durante 1992, con el objetivo de identificar la repercusión de la hipertensión arterial sobre la audición, comparándose con un grupo control, a través de una encuesta confeccionda al efecto. Entre los resultados más relevantes se encontró que el 12,3 % de los pacientes hipertensos estudiados exhibieron repercusión en su audición atribuible a la hipertensión arterial (hipoacusia perceptiva tipo vascular), así como que la frecuencia e intensidad de la presbiacusia es dos veces mayor en los hipertensos que entre los que no lo son. Finalmente se observó que la hipertensión arterial se comporta tanto como causa de hipoacusia perceptiva, como factor contribuyente de presbiacusia.
