Abstract

Con el objetivo de profundizar en el conocimiento de la disección como método de estudio anatómico se realiza una revisión bibliográfica. La disección surgió con la Anatomía y la precede en su constitución como ciencia, contribuyendo en gran medida a su desarrollo posterior. Desde la Edad Antigua ha sido usada de forma primero aislada, luego sistemática y con fines investigativos y docentes. Fue el renacimiento época para su perfeccionamiento y generalización. Aún en el siglo XX mantiene su vigencia y sigue siendo insustituible como método de estudio anatómico. En el siglo XVII llega a América la disección, que comienza a practicarse en Cuba a partir del siglo XVIII con la relevancia de determinar el título de Bachiller en Medicina.
