Caracterización clínico- anatomopatológica de diabéticos fallecidos desde 1992- 1996

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal y observacional con el objetivo de caracterizar los pacientes fallecidos por diabetes Mellitus en el Hospital Provincial Manuel Ascunce Domenech de Camagüey durante 1992–1996. Para tal fin se tomó el universo que ascendió a 186 pacientes fallecidos. La fuente primaria de datos se obtuvo a partir de las historias clínicas y los protocolos de necropsias, los datos estadísticos MICROSTAT Y EPIDAT. Las mujeres agruparon la mayoría de los fallecidos con el 61, 3%. Las causas de muerte por macroangiopatía fueron en orden decreciente el infarto agudo del miocardio, enfermedad cerebrovascular y tromboembolismo pulmonar. Los no insulino dependientes tuvieron mayor incidencia de infecciones, mientras que la hipertensión se presentó en el 46, 8% de los fallecidos y la hipercolesterolemia en el 21, 5%.
