Caracterización del asma bronquial en edades pediátricas

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal para conocer el comportamiento del asma bronquial en edades pediátricas en cinco consultorios del médico de familia del área urbana del Policlínico Comunitario Docente Joaquín de Agüero del Municipio Camagüey en el período comprendido de enero de 1994 a enero de 1995. El universo estuvo constituido por 112 niños dispensarizados con esta afección. Los datos seleccionados para el estudio se obtuvieron de un modelo encuesta confeccionado según bibliografía revisada, los cuales se procesaron de forma computarizada. Los resultados ofrecen un predominio de la afección en las edades de 5-9 años y muestran evidencias entre los antecedentes familiares positivos y la presencia ambiental del polvo y la humedad relacionada con la enfermedad. Se concluye con una prevalencia de 14, 7%. El tratamiento intercrisis estuvo constituido por los antihistamínicos de primera generación.
