Aspectos psicológicos del paciente portador de glaucoma crónico simple

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo a 60 pacientes con diagnóstico de glaucoma crónico simple para conocer sus características personales, nivel de ansiedad y perfil psicopatológico. Se utilizó la prueba de los 16 factores de personalidad, la escala de ansiedad IPAT y una entrevista psicosocial individual. El grupo de pacientes estudiados se caracterizó por ser personas reservadas, esquivas, emotivas con poca estabilidad emocional, prudentes, sobrios, inseguros, aprensivos, dependientes del grupo, tensos frustrados, agobiados y que presentaron niveles elevados de ansiedad. El perfil psicopatológico predominante, destacó los síntomas de ansiedad, tristeza, insomnio, astenia e irritabilidad. La incidencia de antecedentes de alteración psíquica fue alta en los pacientes y en los familiares. Los conflictos personales fueron los más significativos. Dentro de las enfermedades psquiátricas predominaron los trastornos del sueño y trastornos neuróticos diversos.
