Nivel de conocimientos de profesionales, técnicos y estudiantes sobre el SIDA

Abstract

El SIDA es una enfermedad epidémica que azota a las naciones hace una generación. La reducción de la morbimortalidad como enfermedad transmisible obedece a la estrategia trazada por salud pública hasta el año 2000. Para indagar sobre el conocimiento del personal de salud sobre esta enfermedad se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal basado en la ejecución de encuestas a 251 personas entre profesionales, técnicos de la salud y estudiantes de estomatología durante el año 1999 en la Provincia de Camagüey. Los datos fueron procesados en microcomputadora por el paquete estadístico EPI INFO. Se observa que el 5,17% de los encuestados posee conocimientos mínimos con relación a la transmisión de la enfermedad. Los conocimientos sobre manifestaciones bucales, manejo del instrumental y bioseguridad son insuficientes. Los aspectos psicológicos de la atención a estos pacientes son del conocimiento de la mayoría de los encuestados.
