E. Coli enterohemorrágico (eche). Algunas consecuencias de su presentación en el humano
Abstract
E coli enterohemorágico (ECEH) constituye la variedad enteropatógena de esta especie bacteriana a la que se presta una atención priorizada desde los años 80. A diferencia de las restantes categorías su mayor incidencia ha estado en países del denominado primer mundo, donde, entre otras, ha ocasionado brotes de diarrea acuosa, diarrea sanguinolenta, colitis hemorrágica, síndrome urémico hemolítico (SUH) y púrpura trombocitopénica trombótica (PTT). El desencadenamiento de estos cuadros se asocia a su capacidad de producir un tipo de toxina al que se ha denominado verotoxina (VT) y una hemolisina (Ent-Hly). La presente revisión brinda una panorámica sobre algunas particularidades propias de estas etiologías y su vínculo con ECEH.Downloads
