Abstract

Este trabajo pretende actualizar al lector en aspectos correspondientes al diagnóstico y tratamiento de la gingivitis crónica, afección de gran interés desde el punto de vista epidemiológico. Se profundiza en los métodos de tratamiento, los cuales van desde la educación sanitaria, mencionando el control mecánico de la placa bacteriana y los tratamientos naturales hasta los tratamientos higiénicos y enfatiza en la responsabilidad del Estomatólogo General Integral en el control de los factores de riesgo de la enfermedad periodontal.
