Relación entre la hipertensión arterial y la cardiopatía isquémica

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal a pacientes hipertensos con cardiopatías isquémicas en el Hospital Manuel Ascunce Domenech en el período comprendido entre el 1ro de Julio de 1996 y el 1ro de Julio de 1998. En cuanto a los grados de hipertensión arterial, fue mayor la moderada predominando ésta en el sexo femenino con 28 pacientes (28%) (p< 0, 05), se observó que la hipertensión arterial aumenta con la edad, fue más frecuente en el grupo de 65 años y más. Hubo predominio de hipertensos de piel blanca (66%), la cardiopatía isquémica que más se relacionó con la hipertensión arterial fue la angina de pecho en 62 pacientes, el tratamiento farmacológico mayormente utilizado fue el uso de anticálcicos (nifedipina) en 74 pacientes permitiendo el control de 25 de éstos, para un 71, 4% ( p<0, 05), las complicaciones más frecuentes fueron los accidentes vasculares encefálicos en 10 pacientes, solo fallecieron cuatro enfermos, tres del sexo femenino y uno del masculino.
