Estudio aterométrico de las arterias de la pierna en pacientes amputados por gangrena isquémica. Factores de riesgo

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio de las arterias de la pierna a un grupo de 45 pacientes con enfermedad vascular periférica que fueron amputados por gangrena isquémica. Se encontró un predominio del sexo masculino en un 80%. El factor de riesgo asociado en la mayoría fue el hábito de fumar entre los hombres 83,3% y diabetes mellitus en las mujeres 33, 3%. La estría adiposa fue el mayor hallazgo entre los fumadores y la placa grave entre los diabéticos y la ingestión severa de alcohol ocupó el tercer lugar en cuanto a la cantidad de lesiones. Los ínidices de obstrucción fueron notables en los diabéticos e hipertensos, mientras que la estenosis predominó en los fumadores y bebedores.
