Relación entre la hipertensión arterial y la cardiopatía isquémica

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en pacientes hipertensos con cardiopatías isquémicas ingresados en el hospital Manuel Ascunce Domenech de Camagüey, en el período comprendido entre julio 1996 a julio 1998, ambos incluidos. En cuanto a los grados de HTA fue mayor la moderada con predominio en el sexo femenino con 28 pacientes (28 %) (P< 0, 05). Se observó que la HTA aumentó con la edad, y fue más frecuente en el grupo de 65 años y más; existió predominio en los pacientes de piel blanca (66 %). La forma clínica de cardiopatía isquémica que más se relacionó con la HTA fue la angina de pecho con 62 pacientes. El tratamiento farmacológico mayormente utilizado fue con anticálcicos (nifedipina) en 74 pacientes, los betabloqueadores fueron los de mayor rendimiento, se utilizaron en 35 ocasiones permitiendo el control de 25 de estos pacientes (71, 4 %) (P<0, 05), las complicaciones más frecuentes fueron los accidentes vasculares encefálicos, solo fallecieron cuatro pacientes.
