Rehabilitación protésica en pacientes implantados con hidroxiapatita por presentar rebordes alveolares atróficos

Abstract

Se evaluó la rehabilitación protésica en pacientes desdentados totales con implantes de Hidroxiapatita Coralina HAP-200 porosa en rebordes alveolares atróficos en pacientes menores de 75 años. Se determinaron los cambios dimensionales del área tratada a los 3, 6 y 12 meses de instalados los aparatos protésicos, comparándose la ganancia inicial y final del área portadentadura. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, longitudinal y prospectivo en Camagüey de 1996 a 1999. El universo de estudio fueron los desdentados totales superiores e inferiores que acudieron a consulta de prótesis, la muestra la constituyeron los 11 primeros pacientes con atrofia alveolar inferior. Se estableció un estadío preoperatorio, uno posoperatorio rehabilitador y uno comprobatorio y se desarrollaron las mediciones de las áreas iniciales, ganadas, mantenidas y perdidas según la evolución. Los resultados demuestran que a los tres meses ocurrieron mayores variaciones del área portadentadura. La diferencia entre ganancia inicial y ganancia final fue de 208,73 mm.
