Acupuntura como técnica de analgesia quirúrgica en las operaciones del síndrome del túnel de carpo

Abstract

La analgesia ha captado el interés de los profesionales de la salud y cada día aumentan más los estudiosos del tema. Se realizó en el Hospital Militar un estudio interventivo de 30 pacientes adultos de ambos sexos con síndrome del túnel del carpo (STC), ello permitió evaluar la efectividad del método acupuntural en las operaciones de esta patología, la condición indispensable fue la aceptación del paciente y la aprobación del cirujano. Se aplicó electroacupuntura en los puntos seleccionados y se utilizó anestesia por congelación sobre la piel. Los resultados fueron efectivos en el 86, 7 % de los pacientes y las reacciones adversas de la acupuntura fueron mínimas.
