Comportamiento de los factores de riesgo de la enfermedad cerebrovascular en una comunidad

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal sobre el comportamiento de los factores de riesgo de la enfermedad cerebrovascular en los pacientes de 50 años y más pertenecientes al consultorio No.15 del Policlínico Carlos J. Finlay de la ciudad de Camagüey, en el período de un año enero-diciembre de 1999. El universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 120 pacientes con edades entre 50 años y más a los que se le aplicó una encuesta que constituyó el registro primario. Los datos obtenidos se procesaron de forma automatizada. La hipertensión arterial fue la enfermedad crónica más frecuentemente hallada, el segundo lugar lo ocupó la diabetes mellitus y el tercero las dislipidemias. El tabaquismo fue el hábito tóxico más representativo en el 63,3%, la obesidad se presentó en el 56,6%. Fue frecuente hallar pacientes con tres ó más riesgos de padecer de una enfermedad cerebrovascular.
