Ultrasonografía en el diagnóstico de la estenosis hipertrófica del píloro

Abstract

Se analizó una serie de 38 pacientes intervenidos quirúrgicamente por estenosis hipertrófica congénita del píloro en un período de cinco años y medios. El objetivo general fue demostrar las ventajas de la ultrasonografía en el diagnóstico de esta entidad en comparación con el examen radiológico contrastado del tracto digestivo superior, haciendo énfasis en el ultrasonido como técnica de elección para el diagnóstico de esta afección. En base al objetivo propuesto llegamos a la conclusión de que la ecografía es la técnica más inocua, económica y rápida en el diagnóstico de estenosis hipertrófica congénita del píloro. Se recomienda como el primer examen imagenológico que se realice en todo lactante en el que se sospeche clínicamente la enfermedad.
