Carcinoma colorrectal en pacientes menores de cuarenta años

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo a los pacientes diagnosticados de carcinoma colorrectal, menores de 40 años en los hospitales Manuel Ascunce Domenech y Amalia Simoni de la ciudad de Camagüey, desde 1992 al 2000, ambos inclusive. El diagnóstico se fundamentó en el estudio histopatológico de los pacientes operados o fallecidos por esta entidad en este período. Se destaca que no hubo diferencia en cuanto al sexo, con predominio de los pacientes de piel blanca, pero se señala la alta frecuencia de los de piel negra, no común en nuestro país; y los enfermos de áreas urbanas. La localización y la clínica no tienen diferencias con respecto a lo señalado en la literatura, al igual que los medios diagnósticos. Se remarca la mayor frecuencia de adenocarcinoma entre estos pacientes con sus características histopatológicas, y el valor pronóstico del estadio. Se intervinieron quirúrgicamente 16 enfermos, la mortalidad operatoria fue nula.
