Infecciones respiratorias agudas tratadas en la comunidad

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en el cual se realizó una intervención médica con el objetivo de conocer el tratamiento de las infecciones respiratorias agudas en la comunidad de 104 miembros de lactantes en 20 consultorios pertenecientes a la Policlínica Comunitaria Norte del Municipio Florida, en un período comprendido desde el 10 de octubre de 1999 al 31 de marzo de 2000. La fuente primaria de los datos fue la historia clínica familiar, donde se tomó la relación de lactantes y sus madres; luego se diseñó una encuesta al efecto. Los datos se codificaron manualmente y se procesaron en una microcomputadora IBM aplicando el programa estadístico Microstad. El desconocimiento de cómo tratar al niño febril, síntomas y signos de empeoramiento de las IRA, uso indiscriminado de medicamentos bajo prescripción propia, así como el desconocimiento de los principales factores de riesgo de la IRA; constituyeron las principales dificultades observadas.
