Experiencia en el uso de antioxidantes y ozono en la degeneración macular relacionada con la edad

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio longitudinal prospectivo y explicativo. El universo estuvo constituido por 20 pacientes que acudieron a la consulta de retina del Hospital Provincial Manuel Ascunce Domenech en el período comprendido desde enero de 1998 hasta enero de 2001, con el diagnóstico de degeneración macular relacionada con la edad DRME (seca) y con agudeza visual superior a 0.5. A estos pacientes se les administró tratamiento de ozono y antioxidantes con el que se apreció mejoría visual en un período de seis meses.
