Colecistectomía laparoscópica en la colecistitis aguda

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio explicativo de las 284 colecistectomías laparoscópicas realizadas por colecistitis aguda entre el 1ro. de julio de 1996 y el 30 de junio del 2002 en el centro de Cirugía de Mínimo Acceso del Hospital Provincial Clínico Quirúrgico Docente Manuel Ascunce Domenech de Camagüey. El 66, 9 % de los pacientes correspondió al sexo femenino. La edad promedio fue de 54, 2 años. El tiempo de evolución de la enfermedad fue de hasta 72 horas en 251 casos (88, 4 %). El tiempo quirúrgico promedio en los pacientes operados por colecistitis aguda fue de 51,1 min. Se produjeron seis conversiones para un 2, 1%. Se presentaron 10 complicaciones, lo que representó un 3, 5 % de pacientes complicados. No existió mortalidad. El 93 % de los pacientes tuvieron una estadía post operatoria inferior a las 24 horas. Concluimos que la colecistectomía laparoscópica en pacientes con colecistitis aguda es una técnica efectiva, segura, con baja morbilidad, y que debe ser el procedimiento de elección en estos pacientes, sobre todo durante las primeras 72 horas de iniciados los síntomas
