Uso de la placa neuromiorelajante en pacientes portadores de disfunción temporomandibular

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio longitudinal prospectivo para comprobar la efectividad del uso de la placa neurorelajante. El universo de nuestro trabajo estuvo constituido por los pacientes que acudieron espontáneamente o por remisión a los servicios de las clínicas estomatológicas Provincial Docente y La Vigía, en el período comprendido entre marzo de 1999 a marzo de 2000 con dolor o diagnóstico de disfunción de la ATM, de los cuales fueron seleccionados 26 pacientes, a los que además de llenárseles las historias clínicas, se procedió a completar el modelo de recolección de la información que no aportó los datos generales, permitió evaluar la intensidad de alivio del dolor y la evolución de los síntomas y signos en los primeros 14 días, lo que demostró la efectividad de la placa neuromiolejante.
