Abstract

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica sobre la infección postquirúrgica después de efectuada una artroplastia total de cadera. El objetivo de este trabajo es actualizar el tema en cuanto a epidemiología, incidencia, diagnóstico precoz y efectivo, además de tratamiento profiláctico y de la afección propiamente dicha. La importancia de este estudio, desde nuestro punto de vista, es que brinda elementos prácticos para la prevención de esta temida complicación, después de un proceder tan riesgoso como lo constituye la sustitución articular total.
