Eficacia del propóleo al 10 % en el tratamiento de la cervicitis aguda

Abstract

Se realizó un ensayo clínico fase II, unicentro, controlado, aleatorizado, a simple ciegas en el Policlínico Comunitario Docente Julio Antonio Mella durante el período de abril del 1999 a abril de 2000, con el objetivo de evidenciar la eficacia del tratamiento con propóleo al 10 % en la cervicitis aguda, la muestra se dividió en dos grupos (estudio y control) cada uno con 35 pacientes, al grupo estudio se le aplicó tratamiento con propóleo y al control solución de Lugol. Se aplicaron curas vaginales locales durante 7 ó 10 días hábiles consecutivos. En el grupo estudio desapareció el dolor en todas las pacientes a los 7 días (P= 7.384 E-09) remitieron los signos 33 pacientes; Monilia y Trichomona fueron los gérmenes más asociados con la enfermedad. Ambos tratamientos fueron efectivos para la Monilia, pero la rapidez del propóleo fue mayor. Se concluye que el propóleo es eficaz porque cura mayor número de pacientes y en menor tiempo.
