Análisis del impacto del modelo de atención al pie diabético

Abstract

Se realizó una estudio observacional, transversal descriptivo, para conocer el impacto de la operación del modelo de atención al pie diabético El universo estuvo constituido por todos los pacientes que ingresaron en el servicio de angiología y cirugía vascular del Hospital Provincial Manuel Ascunce Domenech de Camagüey en el período comprendido de enero – diciembre 1999. Se conformaron dos grupos, un grupo estudio con 31 pacientes a los cuales se le habían aplicado acciones educativas de salud y otro grupo control con 158 pacientes que no habían recibido estas acciones. Los pacientes del grupo de estudio acudieron primero a la consulta (99, 54 %) y se atendieron en mayor porcentaje con el médico de familia obtuvieron 87, 04 % de calificación de alta cultura sanitaria. En el nivel de operación predominaron los desbridamientos y operaciones menores. Los enfermos que recibieron acciones educativas se presentaron al médico de familia, con mayor rapidez y no requirieron de numerosas amputaciones y el nivel de conocimiento sobre la enfermedad fue mayor.
