Abscesos renales: características en nuestro medio

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de 30 pacientes aquejados por abscesos renales diagnosticados en los hospitales Manuel Ascunce Domenech y Amalia Simoni, en la ciudad de Camagüey, en el período comprendido entre enero de 1980 a enero de 2000, ambos inclusive. El diagnóstico de esta entidad planteó numerosas dificultades establecidas en muchos de ellos durante el acto quirúrgico o por estudios necrópsicos. Señalamos aquí nuestros resultados efectuando una revisión sobre los aspectos clínicos, biológicos, imagenológicos y terapéuticos. De los seis pacientes fallecidos (20 %), todos fueron diagnosticados durante el examen necrópsico, presentaron estudios y terapéutica acorde a la posibilidad diagnóstica de esta enfermedad; de los 24 restantes (80 %), 14 (46, 6 %) recibieron tratamiento quirúrgico y 10 (33.3 %) tratamiento con antibióticos.
