Sida, evaluación de la información sobre normas de bioseguridad en estomatología

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo con el objetivo de evaluar las normas de bioseguridad sobre el sida en Estomatología en los estomatólogos del municipio Camagüey, en el período comprendido de mayo de 2000 a julio de 2001 El universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 303 estomatólogos; la muestra seleccionada la formaron 142 estomatólogos, se comprobó el nivel de información de las normas de bioseguridad relacionadas con la enfermedad. La información sobre las normas de protección personal fue regular, así como el conocimiento sobre la conducta a seguir ante el contacto con sangre infectada. El nivel de información en cuanto al manejo del instrumental y de los materiales de desecho fue excelente y la información en cuanto a la atención del paciente con sida y el manejo de objetos ajenos al uso estomatológico fue bueno.
