Caracterización del maltrato en el anciano

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo para caracterizar el maltrato en el adulto mayor en un consultorio médico del área de salud perteneciente a la Policlínica Comunitaria Docente Rodolfo Ramírez Esquivel de Camagüey durante el año 2002. El universo de la investigación estuvo constituido por 84 adultos mayores. Se aplicó una encuesta que constituyó el registro primario del estudio y cuyos datos obtenidos se procesaron automatizadamente con una confiabilidad de un 95 %. El grupo etáreo predominante fue el de 60 a 69 años (77, 3 %), al igual que el sexo femenino (54, 7 %). La estructura familiar extensa (63, 5 %) y el funcionamiento familiar disfuncional (57, 1 %) fueron relevantes. En cuanto al grado de relación con el maltratante predominó el familiar (86, 9 %), de igual forma el tipo de maltrato más encontrado fue el psicológico (98, 8 %).
