Atención primaria de ortodoncia en dos consultorios del área oeste del municipio Camagüey

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio de intervención en niños en dos consultorios del área Oeste de Camagüey con el objetivo de elevar la calidad de la atención primaria de Ortodoncia y modificar el estado de salud bucal de la población infantil. El universo estuvo constituido por 190 niños que fueron encuestados e interconsultados, el 69 % estaba afectado por maloclusiones y de éstos el 45, 03 % necesitó tratamiento de atención primaria; los hábitos bucales deformantes se encontraron en número considerable. Recibieron tratamientos activos 27 niños en los que predominaron la disfunción neuromuscular y el resalte aumentado. Se obtuvieron siete altas y disminuyó la severidad de las alteraciones de los pacientes aún con tratamiento. Se logró un cambio favorable en el estado de salud de la población con diferencia significativa.
