Fracturas espinales toracolumbares. Tratamiento integral

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio prospectivo de 40 pacientes inestables con fracturas de columna toracolumbar, con el objetivo de disminuir el elevado número de complicaciones y secuelas que sufren estos pacientes atendidos en el Hospital Provincial Clínico Quirúrgico Docente Manuel Ascunce Domenech, los cuales fueron tratados precozmente por un equipo multidisciplinario. Predominó el sexo masculino y la edad entre 31–55 años. El nivel de localización topográfica más frecuente fue T–10 a L–2, en la mayoría de los pacientes la causa del trauma fue la caída de altura. Se señalaron las complicaciones frecuentes en el posoperatorio, así como las lesiones asociadas encontradas. Se relacionaron los pacientes de acuerdo con los grados neurológicos de la escala de Asociación Americana de Lesión Espinal inicialmente y su variación posterior al tratamiento. Se obtuvieron buenos resultados en la mayoría de los pacientes. El método de tratamiento mostró buenos resultados.
