Cirugía mayor ambulatoria de glándulas salivales

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo a 27 pacientes con afecciones en las glándulas salivales, seleccionados para cirugía ambulatoria con el objetivo de valorar los resultados de este procedimiento en el Hospital General Docente Martín Chang Puga de Nuevitas, Camagüey, desde marzo de 2000 a septiembre de 2002. Los pacientes siguieron el mecanismo hospitalario instituido para el tratamiento quirúrgico de su enfermedad. La edad media de los pacientes tratados fue 49, 3 años, prevaleció el sexo masculino (59, 2 %). Las afecciones más frecuentes fueron la sialoadenitis submaxilar crónica (25, 9 %) y el adenoma pleomorfo de parótida (48, 1 %). La mayoría de los pacientes no presentaron complicaciones (88, 9 %), no existió hospitalización imprevista y el proceder proporcionó un alto grado de satisfacción al paciente. El ahorro económico a la institución fue de $ 11362,98 MN.
