Factores determinantes del pronóstico en el ictus isquémico

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional, analítico, longitudinal y prospectivo a 128 pacientes ingresados con ictus isquémico en el Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Docente Amalia Simoni de Camagüey, desde julio de 2001 a junio de 2002, con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de diferentes variables y su posible influencia en la repercusión funcional de los enfermos que han sufrido esta afección. La edad media de los pacientes fue de 72,5 años, predominó el sexo masculino y el infarto de origen aterotrombótico. La hipertensión arterial representó el factor de riesgo más frecuente. En el análisis bivariante se encontró que los marcadores pronósticos de repercusión funcional estuvieron relacionados con la edad, el sexo y lo factores de riesgo, la latencia de ingreso, la estadía hospitalaria, las complicaciones intrahospitalarias y la gravedad inicial del ictus.
