Presencia de la familia culicidae en el enclave turístico de Santa Lucía, Camagüey y su relación con enfermedades de importancia médico-veterinaria

Abstract

Se realizó una prospección entomológica, para conocer la presencia y distribución de miembros de la familia Culicidae, de relevancia médico-veterinaria en el importante balneario turístico de Santa Lucía, ubicado en el litoral norte de la provincia de Camagüey. Fueron muestreadas siete localidades, donde se identificó la presencia de 12 especies de mosquitos, el género Culex fue el más representado. Las mejores distribuidas resultaron ser en orden Culex quinquefasciatus, Ochlerotatus taeniorhynchus y Ochlerotatus sollicitans, respectivamente. La zona de mayor relevancia vectorial según la variedad de especies reportadas fue Punta de Ganado, que al parecer, reúne las mejores condiciones ecológicas para el establecimiento de dichos vectores. El reporte de especies de marcado interés sanitario obliga a diseñar e implementar un adecuado programa de vigilancia y control antivectorial, destinado a evitar la introducción y propagación de enfermedades exóticas para Cuba.
