Intoxicación exógena por infusión oral de albahaca morada. Reporte de un caso

Abstract

Se presenta el caso de un paciente de cuatro años de edad y peso corporal de 38 libras, con antecedentes personales de infección respiratoria alta de dos días de evolución, y administración de infusión de albahaca morada 12 h antes del desenlace de la enfermedad. Se ingresó de inmediato con diagnóstico de intoxicación exógena por la ingestión de albahaca morada, requirió de una estadía en el hospital de diez días, los primeros cinco fueron en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Provincial Pediátrico Eduardo Agramonte Piña. La administración a niños de cocimientos o infusiones de medicina verde, necesita de más estudio para la comprensión de sus reacciones e interacciones en este tipo de pacientes a corto o largo plazo.
