Relación de la apoptosis y autoinmunidad

Abstract

Los estudios sobre la apoptosis han experimentado un vertiginoso desarrollo en los últimos años. Con el objetivo de revisar el papel de la apoptosis en el sistema inmune y su posible relación con la autoinmunidad, se estudiaron 25 documentos referentes al tema. Se describen los factores genéticos, inductores e inhibidores de la apoptosis así como sus mecanismos bioquímicos en los linfocitos. Se hace referencia a la importancia de la muerte celular programada en el sistema inmunológico y su función en la patogenia de algunas enfermedades autoinmunes.
