Abstract

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de 26 autores, la mayoría de la última década, el resto pertenecen a textos básicos de la carrera de Medicina como son Semiología, Propedéutica, Pediatría y Anatomía Humana; se encontró la descripción de varias clasificaciones de tipos constitucionales y se tuvieron en cuenta las medidas antropométricas y el componente psíquico, entre otros. Llanio et al 1 describe la clasificación dada por Pende en normolíneos, longilíneos y brevilíneos, la cual fue la más utilizada; todos los autores le atribuyen importancia a los factores internos y externos para la clasificación. Se observó además que no solo en el ámbito médico se tiene en cuenta la constitución del individuo, es también muy utilizada en el deporte, donde se emplean las clasificaciones de endomorfia, ectomorfia y mesomorfia, relacionadas con el origen de las estructuras a partir de las tres hojas embrionarias.
