Rehabilitación de dientes con fracturas infragingivales. Reporte de un caso

Abstract

Se presenta un caso para ilustrar una alternativa de tratamiento de fracturas dentarias infraginigivales de dientes traumatizados. Se recibió al paciente con traumatismo de media hora de evolución que provocó fractura complicada, total e infragingival en zona 12. La conducta inmediata que se asumió fue el tratamiento pulpo radicular con hidróxido de calcio apical y cementación de corona de espiga provisional preconformada con pin prefabricado. El tratamiento consistió en la tracción ortodóncica del muñón para posibilitar el acceso al tejido sano y la colocación de la corona de espiga definitiva. Las fotografías ilustran la evolución satisfactoria desde el punto de vista estético y periodontal del paciente luego de 20 años, no hay evidencias radiográficas de reabsorción dentaria ni ósea. Esta alternativa de tratamiento es factible de realizar por el estomatólogo general integral, con o sin la colaboración de los especialistas para evitar la exodoncia de un diente que puede conservar sus funciones por largo período de tiempo.
