Factores de riesgo de glaucoma en una población de ciegos
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo con el propósito de identificar los principales factores de riesgo de glaucoma en pacientes ciegos por esta enfermedad afiliados a la Asociación Nacional de Ciegos (ANCI) de la provincia de Camagüey. Se estudiaron 70 pacientes, mayores de 16 años con estas características y que acudieron a la consulta del hospital clínico quirúrgico docente Manuel Ascunce Domenech, desde marzo de 2002 a marzo de 2004. La mayoría de los pacientes estudiados sobrepasaban los 60 años de edad, eran de raza blanca y sexo masculino. Predominó la hipertensión arterial como principal antecedente patológico personal, y antecedentes familiares de glaucoma.Downloads
