Pacientes con alto riesgo en la urgencia por asma bronquial

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio analítico retrospectivo de casos y de controles, con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de los pacientes de alto riesgo en la urgencia por asma bronquial que fueron atendidos en el cuerpo de guardia de adulto del Hospital General Docente Martín Chang Puga de Nuevitas durante el año 2005. Se estudiaron 65 pacientes asmáticos hospitalizados este año y los controles por igual número de pacientes que no fueron hospitalizados por esta causa .A ambos grupos se les aplicó una encuesta que contenía las variables seleccionadas. Predominó el sexo femenino y el grupo de edades entre 48 y 57 años. Los cuatro factores de alto riesgo en la urgencia por asma bronquial fueron la hospitalización frecuente, servicio de urgencia médica distante, períodos de agudización y uso de dos o más spray mensuales de salbutamol.
