Evaluación de acciones educativas para el control de factores de riesgo de caries radiculares

Abstract

Con la finalidad de evaluar el impacto a corto plazo de un sistema de acciones educativas encaminadas a mejorar el autocontrol de los factores de riesgo de caries radiculares, se realizó un estudio de intervención educativa en sistemas y servicios de salud en 49 pacientes del consultorio 48 del área oeste. La investigación se realizó en tres etapas: selección de pacientes y recolección de la información, diseño y ejecución de un sistema de acciones educativas y por último la evaluación. Se aplicó a los pacientes una entrevista con el objetivo de indagar sobre la higiene bucal y percepción de riesgo de padecer de caries radicular y un cuestionario con el objetivo de conocer el nivel de información que resultó regular y mal en el 59, 2 % de los pacientes. Los mismos fueron agrupados según necesidades de aprendizaje similares y recibieron actividades educativas individuales y grupales. Luego de aplicar este sistema de acciones se elevó el nivel de información a bien en un 79, 5 %, mejoraron la percepción del riesgo y la higiene bucal por lo que se concluyó que la estrategia seguida tuvo un impacto positivo al lograr cambios favorables.
