Frecuencia de cursos atípicos del desarrollo en niños menores de un año

Abstract

El primer año es una etapa importante en la vida del niño, es también el período donde se evidencian las primeras manifestaciones clínicas de enfermedades discapacitantes como la parálisis cerebral infantil. Con el objetivo de conocer la frecuencia de cursos atípicos del desarrollo, se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal, en el que se evaluó el desarrollo mediante el empleo del instrumento de evaluación, edades y etapas a 1708 niños menores de un año residentes en la ciudad de Camagüey. El 8, 48 % presentó un curso atípico del desarrollo, este fue más frecuente a la edad de seis meses. De los 145 pacientes detectados un 58.62 % se asoció el curso atípico a factores de riesgo de discapacidad. La prueba edades-etapas resultó un instrumento útil en la valoración del curso del desarrollo.
